International Armenian Language and Culture Summer School, Armenia
The Armenian Association for Academic Partnership and Support (ARMACAD) is pleased to announce its second International Armenian Language and Culture Summer School in Yerevan, Armenia to take place from July 18, 2015 to August 8, 2015. This 21 days summer school offers participants to master skills in written and oral modern Armenian, reading and interpreting Armenian texts from different periods as well as rapidly deepening their knowledge in Armenian Literature, History and Arts. Venice Summer Program, Italy
By attending the Summer Intensive Course the participants have the opportunity to be brought into close contact with the Armenian language and Armenian culture, with particular attention to its Western variant. The course is based on a 65-hour program with four levels (absolute beginners, intermediate, proficient, advanced/mother tongue). Since 2010 there has also been added the possibility of attending lessons in Eastern Armenian, basically in phonology, orthography, and grammar. The lessons in Eastern Armenian are taught to those participants who already have a basic command of the language.

Courses: Summer Language Workshop at Indiana University (June 6-July 29, 2016)
The 2016 Indiana University Summer Language Workshop is accepting applications for intensive study of Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian (BCS), Chinese, Estonian, Hungarian, Kurdish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mongolian, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
The program features 20 contact hours weekly; twice-weekly language tables; films; food tastings; student-run graduate research groups and other culturally rich extracurricular programming. The Workshop is excellent preparation for travel or field research abroad.

– All students pay in-state tuition
– Competitive funding available to qualified students:
– Project GO scholarships for undergraduate students in ROTC in Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Russian, or Turkish
– Title VIII fellowships for graduate students and area studies scholars in Azerbaijani, BCS, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mongolian, Russian, or Ukrainian
– FLAS funding available for Arabic, Azerbaijani, BCS, Estonian, Hungarian, Kurdish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mongolian, Persian, Russian, Turkish, and Ukrainian
Classes held June 6 – July 29, 2016
– All levels of Arabic begin May 31, 2016
– 4-week option available for Russian (ending on July 1)

Additional Notes: This 6 week course of Survival Georgian (2 hours/twice a week) is run in partnership with the renowned Nana Shavtvaladze Language School. Survival Georgian is designed to build basic communication skills for everyday situations.  Learn how to order food, give directions, shop and bargain, speak to your landlord, and make new friends. The course will focus on communication not grammar. No previous knowledge required. The course will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, morning or evening classes (10:00-12:00 AM or 6:00-8:00 PM) at the American Language Center located within American Councils Georgia office. The course cost is 330 GEL, which includes a a course book and audio materials.

American Language Center: Everyday Georgian Course
American Language Center at American Councils, Georgia offers “Everyday Georgian course”, next level to Survival Georgian. Continue to Study Georgian language a 6-week course that is designed to help to improve the basic knowledge and communication skills that you have already acquired in Georgian, for a variety of everyday situations and socializing. The course is taught by an experienced native speaker from the Language School of Nana Shavtvaladze, creator of the most comprehensive series of Georgian textbooks for foreign learners.
Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays for 2 hours, 10:00 pm -12:00 noon, for six weeks.
