Under the direct supervision of the Senior International Advisor, and following prescribed firm, office and department procedures, the Russia/Eurasia Analyst is responsible for assisting with many aspects of the firm’s international practice, with a particular focus on developments in Russia, Ukraine, Central Asia and the Caucasus, and neighboring states. The Russia/Eurasia Analyst assists on a wide variety of projects, most of which include research in English and Russian; writing papers and memos in English, and occasionally in Russian, for the firm’s clients, for the firm’s blog, and occasionally for wider dissemination; and some translating of materials from English into Russian and from Russian into English. The position also includes keeping the Senior International Advisor up to date on various developments in specific countries, as well as on other topics of interest to the firm’s lawyers. The Russia/Eurasia Analyst will work with other lawyers and senior professionals at the firm on projects involving U.S. foreign and trade policy, and the work of the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch.
