SCHOLARSHIP:
- The Vartan Gregorian Scholarship (Research Grants) Program is focused on the 20th Century Armenian History.
- The research grant will offer up to two grants in total amount of USD 30,000, covering research, travel, and publications.
ELIGIBILITY:
- The research grants are targeted at early career historians, social scientists, and researchers under the age of 40, specializing in Armenian History. The research grants in the current phase (phase II) are intended for Armenian citizens and Armenians in the Diaspora. Subsequent years will be expanded to international historians (phase III).
- Group of researchers are also eligible to apply, as long as the group lead meets the criteria.
APPLICATION PERIOD AND REQUIREMENTS:

The
application process will be conducted online through Aurora
Humanitarian Initiative’s website from 12 October 2019 to 15 December
2019. The applicants will be requested to submit:
- Research proposal in English (maximum of 2000 words, double-spaced, 12-pt font)
- CV with a list of publications
- Cover letter
- At least two letters of recommendation from an established scholar
- Research proposal in English (maximum of 2000 words, double-spaced, 12-pt font)
SELECTION:

The Selection Board is comprised of five prominent individuals:
- Ronald G. Suny, Director of the Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies, the Charles Tilly Collegiate Professor of Social and Political History, the University of Michigan, and Emeritus Professor of Political Science and History, the University of Chicago;
- George Bournoutian, Senior Professor of History, Iona College;
- Hratch Tchilingirian, Associate Faculty Member of Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Oxford;
- Levon Chookaszian, Head of Chair of History and Theory of Armenian Art, Yerevan State University;
- Hasmik Khalapyan, Director, AGBU Armenian virtual College
