CFP: Geopolitics of Eurasian Crossroads։ Transformations, Challenges and Development Paths

The Faculty of International Relations at Yerevan State University launches its annual conference on politics and international affairs. The 2024 conference is titled “Geopolitics of Eurasian Crossroads։ Transformations, Challenges and Development Paths”. Over the last several decades, Eurasia has undergone a tremendous transformation. It witnessed, among other things, the collapse of a superpower and the emergence of new states, nation-building endeavors and integration initiatives, consolidation and fragmentation of sovereignty, the rise of regional powers, financial crises and economic miracles, wars, establishment and development of regional organizations. The conference aims to bring together scholars specializing in Eurasian studies. It will serve as a venue for academic discussions and a meeting point for scholars to present their current research, discover common academic interests and discuss ideas for potential joint research projects․

Applications from all fields of political science are welcome. Presentations can be related, but not limited to the following topics:

  • Caucasian Geopolitics
  • Geopolitics of Eurasian & European Integration
  • Geopolitics of Russia and the Post-Soviet Space
  • Geopolitics of South Asia
  • Geopolitics of the Middle East
  • Geopolitics of East Asia
  • Armenian Diplomacy
  • Political Theories & Ideologies in the 21st Century 
  • Governance and Innovations
  • Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity & IR
  • Soft Power, Communication and Cultural Diplomacy

Applications should include a title, presenter’s name, affiliation and email and an abstract (up to 300 words). The application file should be sent to conference.int.rel@ysu.am in a .doc, .docx or .pdf format. The Conference Committee will review the applications and communicate its decision via email. After receiving the acceptance letter, presenters are expected to send their papers in a .doc or docx or .pdf format. After the conference, the participants will be offered to submit their manuscripts to Journal of Political Science: Bulletin of Yerevan University, published by Yerevan State University.

All sessions will be held in person. The working language of the conference is English. The conference does not cover travel and accommodation costs. All questions should be addressed to conference.int.rel@ysu.am.
