A Cartographic Introduction to the South Caucasus

Module description: The focus of this three-week module is the Caucasus region, with specific emphasis on Armenia, by means of maps, over several thousands of years. Students will explore the various uses of maps from antiquity to the present, revealing the significance of the region to empires and nations. The module features historic South Caucasus/Armenian maps sourced from The History Museum of Armenia in Yerevan, enabling students to see what museum visitors view (locations of original maps are also noted).
