Joseph P. Wood is assistant professor of English and American Literature at The University of Alabama at Birmingham and the recipient of ARISC Research & Mentoring Fellowship. He is the author of four books of poetry, which include Broken Cage, a finalist for the National Poetry Series. His work has been published in many journals including Boston Review, Arts & Letters Daily, Colorado Review, BOMB, among others. He teaches creative writing and comparative literature, among other courses, and will be co-teaching a course this Fall with UAB and Akaki Tserateli State University students on The Global Hero. Funding for this fellowship is provided by the US Department of State\u2019s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) through a grant to the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
