All materials created with MEAP funding will be published on the open access UCLA Digital Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Three Grant Opportunities.<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/meap.library.ucla.edu\/about\/planning-grants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Planning Grants<\/a>&nbsp;for organization, survey, and inventory work;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/meap.library.ucla.edu\/about\/project-grants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Project Grants<\/a>&nbsp;for digitization and metadata creation; and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/meap.library.ucla.edu\/about\/regional-grants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Regional Grants<\/a>&nbsp;to create digital collections that include cultural heritage materials from three or more institutions, families, or archival repositories related to one theme, community or historical event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Global Access to Digital Collections<\/strong>. Explore&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/digital.library.ucla.edu\/catalog?f%5Bhas_model_ssim%5D%5B%5D=Collection&amp;f%5Bprogram_sim%5D%5B%5D=Modern+Endangered+Archives+Program&amp;sort=title_alpha_numeric_ssort+asc&amp;view=list\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">over 70,000 unique digital objects<\/a>&nbsp;from 23 countries on the UCLA Digital Library. All MEAP funded projects publish digital collections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What We Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MEAP supports projects for documentation and digitization of at-risk cultural heritage from parts of the world with limited resources for archival preservation. MEAP funds a diverse range of projects, including multiple media formats from countries and communities around the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MEAP seeks applications that focus on preserving endangered collections from the 20th and 21st Centuries that reflect community voices, cultural expression, and historical experiences that have been left out of national narratives and archives. Collections must be held and digitization work completed outside North America, UK, and the Europe Union. See\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/meap.library.ucla.edu\/about\/project-eligibility\" target=\"_blank\">full eligibility requirements<\/a>\u00a0on the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MEAP has a two-stage application process. All applicants are required to submit a Preliminary Application. Select applicants will then be invited to complete a Detailed Application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All applications must be submitted in English through our Survey Monkey Apply portal.
