{"id":12100,"date":"2025-01-14T12:20:42","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T12:20:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arisc.org\/?p=12100"},"modified":"2025-01-14T12:20:44","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T12:20:44","slug":"monterey-summer-symposium-on-russia-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arisc.org\/?p=12100","title":{"rendered":"Monterey Summer Symposium on Russia 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Deadline: <strong>February 17, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.middlebury.edu\/institute\/academics\/centers-initiatives\/monterey-initiative-russian-studies\/monterey-summer-symposium-on-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Monterey Summer Symposium on Russia<\/a> will take place in Armenia and Georgia on June 25 &#8211; July 13, 2025.<\/strong>\u00a0Armenia and Georgia are experiencing radical, and quite different geopolitical challenges, with one constant variable in place &#8211; their shared history with the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and the Russian Federation. Armenia and Georgia, with millennia of history, stand today at a crossroads of international affairs. They exist in a competitive and conflictual neighborhood between Iran, Turkey, and Russia, with Great Powers \u2014 the United States, China, and\u00a0Russia \u2013 affecting their\u00a0futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monterey Symposium is open to students enrolled in or accepted to a master\u2019s or PhD&nbsp;program, particularly those interested in careers in government, international organizations&nbsp;and non-governmental organizations. Applicants with a master\u2019s degree, who plan to obtain a PhD&nbsp;and are currently employed in the field of international relations and Russian\/Eurasian affairs, with a proven record of commitment to the field, and Western journalists, who work in a field and report from Eurasia and Caucasus, are welcome to&nbsp;apply.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no tuition fee for the Monterey Summer Symposium on Russia.
