Update\non COVID-19 in Azerbaijan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ARISC is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Azerbaijan, and following local regulations in a rapidly changing environment. U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory for Azerbaijan<\/a><\/em> – Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Land border crossings remain closed at this time.<\/strong><\/em> <\/em> <\/em> <\/em>
Negative COVID-19 test (PCR) is required for entry to the country. <\/em>

The special quarantine regime will remain in effect until April 1, 202<\/strong>5, according to the decision by Azerbaijan\u2019s Cabinet of Ministers.<\/strong><\/strong> Effective May1, 2022 masks are no longer required (outdoor or indoor).  Most public transportation, including the Baku Metro, reopened on May 31 2021.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isolation (quarantine) period of an individual tested COVID positive, as well as those who were in contact with her\/him is reduced from 14 to 7 days<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers over age of 18 must have a COVID-19 passport<\/strong> (or a document conforming full vaccination or immunity). Please, note that a negative PCR test is still required for all travelers over age 1, regardless of vaccination status.<\/em>

Leyla Rustamli received her Bachelor\u2019s degree in International Relations and International Law from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2006 and her Master\u2019s degree from Baku State University in 2009, majoring on Middle Eastern countries. She has been the awardee of the fellowship to study at the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) for Graduate Student Program in 2007-2008 academic years. Her research interests include security issues of Middle Eastern countries with a focus on Israel, transnational terrorism, ethnic and national conflicts and peace study. She attended Peace Research Courses of Oslo University (Norway) in summer 2014. Leyla started her career as an instructor at the International Relations Department of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) in 2009. She currently is a faculty member of the International Relations Department of AUL. Throughout May \u2013 September 2009 and January \u2013 August 2010 she has been the country representative of ARISC in Azerbaijan. She also taught in Middle Eastern Program at Baku State University in 2009-2010. At the moment she is a PhD candidate at the Philosophy, Sociology and Law Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
