{"id":9600,"date":"2022-09-06T15:54:36","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T15:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arisc.org\/?p=9600"},"modified":"2022-09-06T15:55:08","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T15:55:08","slug":"caorc-neh-research-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arisc.org\/?p=9600","title":{"rendered":"CAORC-NEH Research Fellowship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p id=\"viewer-foo\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caorc.org\/neh-fellowship-guidelines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>CAORC-NEH Research Fellowship<\/u><\/a> is now accepting applications! This fellowship provides the opportunity for scholars to spend significant time in one country with an Overseas Research Center (ORC) as a research base. The fellowship supports advanced research in the humanities for US scholars who hold a PhD (and also foreign national scholars who have been resident in the US for at least three years). Approximately three awards will be granted and fellowship stipends are $5,000 per month for four to six consecutive months. This program is funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neh.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>National Endowment for the Humanities<\/u><\/a> (NEH) under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neh.gov\/grants\/research\/fellowship-programs-independent-research-institutions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Fellowship Programs at Independent Research Institutions<\/u><\/a> (FPIRI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-9sb5v\">Fields of study include, but are not limited to, history, philosophy, religious studies, literature, literary criticism, and visual and performing arts. In addition, research that embraces a humanistic approach and methods will be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-l9p9\">Applicants must propose four to six consecutive months of research affiliated with an ORC in one of the following countries: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cema-northafrica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Algeria<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/arisc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Armenia<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/arisc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Azerbaijan<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/aibs.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Bangladesh<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/khmerstudies.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Cambodia<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/caari.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Cyprus<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/arisc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Georgia<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aifis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Indonesia<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/arenet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Mexico<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mongoliacenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Mongolia<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/legation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Morocco<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/anhs-himalaya.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Nepal<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pakistanstudies-aips.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Pakistan <\/u><\/a>(senior scholars may be permitted to travel to Lahore and Islamabad subject to approval), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westafricanresearchassociation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Senegal<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aisls.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Sri Lanka<\/u><\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cematmaghrib.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Tunisia<\/u><\/a>. Please note that several of the ORCs have an NEH FPIRI Fellowship separate from the CAORC-NEH Research Fellowship.
