The Eurasia Program works to deepen civil society, uphold human rights, and maintain space for independent debate and discussion in Eastern Europe (Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus), the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia), Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), and Turkey. The program is advanced through grant making, advocacy and research, regional initiatives, and close engagement with local Open Society foundations. We believe that a vibrant civil society is fundamental to the promotion of democratic governance and government accountability.
The Program Specialist is a professional program role at the Open Society Eurasia Program, performing a wide range of responsibilities that materially advance both portfolio and program strategies. The Program Specialist is at the forefront of our grant making activities, developing relationships with our partners in the field and providing crucial programmatic support to our Program Officers. The Specialist develops expertise in one or more of the thematic areas in which we work, as well as providing ongoing analysis of the Eurasia region as a whole.
