Writing History: An Evening with Ken Khachigian

On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies and USC Center for the Political Future will host an evening with Ken Khachigian, presidential speechwriter and political strategist. In his new memoir, Behind Closed Doors: In the Room with Reagan & Nixon, Khachigian highlights the importance of communication and leadership under pressure, pulling back the curtain on his years in the White House. In a live recording of Language Therapy with Dr. K, Khachigian and Institute Director Dr. Shushan Karapetian will explore the power of language to communicate complex ideas, what drew him to pursue a career in speechwriting, and how his Armenian-American heritage shaped the way he navigated the halls of power.

The event is free and open to the public—RSVP to attend. The first 20 attendees to check in will receive a complimentary, signed copy of Behind Closed Doors.
