Course: Intermediate Classical Armenian – American Research Institute of the South Caucasus

Intermediate Classical Armenian will be held from July 5–25, 2026, at HMML in Collegeville, Minnesota.

In partnership with Dumbarton Oaks and the Zohrab Center of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (The Zohrab Information Center, Eastern Diocese), this three-week intensive course will challenge students to use their reading and translating skills in the Armenian language and paleography.

The course will include reviewing grammar and reading Classical Armenian texts across genres, including the use of manuscripts. Students will be guided through primary lexica and grammar, bibliography, print and online resources that are essential for research of the Classical Armenian literary tradition.

Course fees, meals, and lodging are generously sponsored by Dumbarton Oaks.
