Planning a trip to the South Caucasus or want to visit virtually? ARISC is offering a series of sessions on food in the region. Join us!
Travelers to the South Caucasus return with wonderful tales of amazing foods, from simple fruits and vegetables purchased at roadside stands, to fresh breads available all day at the corner bakery, to elaborate multi-course meals at celebrations. The unique and flavorful cuisine of this region has caught the attention of cooking magazines, such as Saveur, and cookbook authors.
But how does one navigate the multitudes of options available on a scholar’s budget?
ARISC has helped numerous researchers through their trips to the region. We are now sharing our resources with you as you plan your travel to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or Georgia, or are just interested in learning more!
Our three webinars will be hosted by ARISC Alumni with recent travel experience in the region as well as Resident Directors. They will provide firsthand knowledge on everything you need to know: from where to go for different food options, to dining etiquette and tipping at the many restaurants and cafes, to managing dietary restrictions and where to find your must-have grocery items. Each webinar will include a cooking demonstration of a popular dish, and tips to ensure that you effortlessly navigate the region’s legendary hospitality.
